Notes from Grandma's

I wrote these notes sitting at the Cannon home in January. It was our holiday vacation, since we couldn't leave until New Year's Day.

Sounds of a happy home

A grandmother’s rosary of sorting silverware
Prayers sung to her heavenly audience

The thumping of elephant herds wrestling overhead
Big brother is the best toy today

Gurgles and occasional cries
The flexible monkey pulls “be glorified” melodies from her flower

Pitter patter from eight extra feet, four now snoring on my lap
“Can we take the yard home?”

“Dinner will be ready when it’s ready.”
“That’s an answer.”
